The genuinely free options

Where free gets expensive

- Risk. A data breach or a botched decision costs far more than a licence. Controls are cheap insurance.

Compare the licence fee not to zero, but to the staff hours and risk it removes. A modest monthly plan that saves a day a week of admin and gives you defensible records is not a cost; it is a margin. The question is not "what is free?" but "what is the total cost of running a fair, provable process?"
